8 Weeks

It is really hard for me to believe that in 8 weeks or so we will be turning our heat on for the first time. I signed up for my budget oil plan and I gasped at the monthly payments, that money could be well spent somewhere else, but so is life! Moving on...

August has been quite busy for us, hence no posts since July ( sorry Jody). The first weekend in August, Jon and I both ran the Beach to Beacon. We finished in 67 minutes and we were both happy with our time, Dad finished 18 seconds ahead of me, way to hammer down old man :>) My brother and sister in law also ran, but they were way ahead of us!! The following weekend I competed in my first triathalon. Thank you so much to all that donated, the race raised over 200k towards cancer research that will stay in Maine. The race was awesome and I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment. It took me 1hr and 41 minutes to finish, once again, I was thrilled with that time. The swim went better than expected, I am not much of a swimmer. The bike was a lot of fun, spectators along the way. Thanks Mrs. Mooney and Erin M!! The run was tough the first 1/2 mile because my legs were like jelly from biking, but as I was nearing the 1.5 mile mark I perked up because Jody, Raegan and Eli were there cheering me on all the way from Topsham. Thanks Jody for being such a good friend and a good sport to get two kids packed up and in the car at that hour, not an easy task I know!

Overall it was a memorable experience and I can't wait for next year! Thanks Jon, Nathan, Brady, Mom and Dad for cheering me on and supporting me in my training, I couldn't have done it without you!

Needless to say, I haven't taken many pictures in August, but I will close with a couple from the other day!
